Area
Graduated from Baker High School, Columbus,
Georgia, home of the US Army Infantry and Airborne School. My
step-father was a paratrooper and jump instructor.
Drafted in 1966, graduated from Basic Training and Advanced Infantry
training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Graduated from the Signal Corps Officer
Candidate School in 1967 and commissioned a second lieutenant.
Served in 1967 as a Signal Company Commander in Wilmington, Ohio at an
Air Defence Artillery Nike-Hercules Missile Base; served as the tactical
communications officer of 8th Army in Seoul Korea from 1968-69 (During
the Pueblo Incident).
Discharged a first lieutenant and attended
and graduated
from the State University of New York (Geneseo); graduated from Yale
University (Religion), and the University of Wisconsin Law School. Later
served as an assistant Attorney General of the State of New York and
currently am a business law professor at SUNY, Geneseo.
While at Yale I served as a first
lieutenant in the Connecticut National Guard.
Most recently served as a Major (Judge Advocate General Corps) in the
New York Guard, where I attended the Dutch military parachutist course
at Ameland, and was severely injured on my third jump. Now retired
from the Guard.
Wings awarded. European Military Parachutist
Association basic wings for making 3 jumps in Europe and the Pathfinder
wings (3 Jumps).
