Dear all,
Just to
let you know that one of our members, Mickey Loxton,
is in intensive care in Johannesburg at the moment. From
what Peter Grove tells me, Mickey was playing a football
match yesterday and broke his leg (Tibia injury) during a
tackle. As a result of the break, some fatty tissue
dislodged and entered his bloodstream, before going into his
heart. His condition worsened rapidly and he was taken to
hospital. At hospital, things got worse and at one point
it was thought he would die from the injury and a lot was done
by the medical team to pull him through.
Latest
news today is that he is still in ICU receiving treatment.
Pete is visiting him at 3pm SA time and will update me with his
condition. It appears, from the doctor's advice, that this
may be the end of his jumping days, but we are more concerned to
see him make a full recovery for the moment.
Regards
JP

For those of you who would like to get a serviceable
British jump helmet for WW2 events. Steve Kiddel makes
almost perfect copies of the early P type jump helmets.
He has just got a new batch in and is taking advanced
orders. These go quick so if you want one you will need
to get an order in through me ASAP. To reserve one I
will need a £25-0 non refundable deposit ASAP and once
the order has gone in we might be able to get a small
discount. I will then give you the final price.
Pathfinder will make nothing on this. I'm more
interested in our members getting good serviceable
helmets for our events. The smock and helmet are
probably the biggest expenses you will ever have to
purchase. However these things do not loose their value
so should you decide at a later date to stop jumping you
can always sell them on. If we don't get a decent number
of orders then the worst case scenario is that you pay
the asking price.
