Peter
Grove

Peter Grove was born in
South Africa and presently lives in Johannesburg. In January 1993
he was called up to do 12 months National Service at 4
Artillery regiment in Potchefstroom, and after 3 months basic training
was selected to undergo officer training at Artillery School as a
Candidate Officer. In September 1993 he obtained his commission as
a lieutenant and qualified as a Fire Control Post Officer within the
Artillery. In Oct 1993 he was selected for Parachute training at
44 Parachute battalion in Bloemfontein, finally obtaining his wings as
a paratrooper in December 1993. After completing his military
service, he continued jumping with 44 Parachute battalion, Engineering
regiment, completing the annual water jumps in 1994, 1995 and 1996.
In 2003 he enlisted in the Parachute reserve battalion of which he is
currently an active member.
Peter has jumped in
various countries throughout the world, obtaining his Polish, Belgium
and American wings in 2003, his Pathfinder UK wings at D-Day
60th celebration in Normandy 2004, as well as his Estonian wings at
the Estonian Challenge in July 2005.
