Lest we forget Robert Gilbert "Rocky" Frie

Robert Gilbert "Rocky" Frie, born February 12, 1954, in San Pedro,
California, and died June 25, 2006, at home in San Pedro

To Rocky's friends, were sad to announce that
Rocky suddenly passed away June 25th
After a lengthy battle with health issues.
He will be remembered as a good friend to many,
A fearless Marine & Army Paratrooper,
An Elk member, Sheriffs Reserve Officer,
And fantastic Ballroom Dancer. He is survived by
His sisters Theresa Antonesse, of Cypress, CA.
&  Julia Hallmark, of Livermore, California.

ROCKY FRIE Died AT AGE 52
Robert Gilbert "Rocky" Frie, born February 12, 1954, in San Pedro,
California, and died June 25, 2006, at home in San Pedro. Rocky was a long
time member of the San Pedro Elks Lodge, of the Special Forces Association,
and of the Force Recon Association, and gained many friends over the years
in these and other organizations.
After graduation from USMC boot camp at MCRD San Diego (where he had the top
physical score), Rocky became a Recon Scout with 2/1, and soon became a
member of First Force Reconnaissance Company. With his discharge from the
Corps in 1974 and the dissolution of First Force Recon, Rocky then became a
member of an A-Team with U.S. Army 12th Special Forces at Fort MacArthur in
San Pedro, California. As a private citizen, Rocky participated in military
parachute training and jumps in numerous locations throughout the world,
including: Thailand, Cambodia, The  Philippines, El Salvador, Guatemala, and
Israel.
Rocky's wake will be held at the San Pedro Elks Lodge on Saturday, July 22,
2006, at 11 am. Other arrangements are pending. For further information,
