He completed his jumps course at Ringway in 1942

He took part in several campaigns.

He was blown up twice. Once in North Africa and once in the Black Forrest

At Arnhem he dropped in the first wave on the 17^th Sept at Wolfhaze At that time he was attached to a recon squad.
