Most
will now be aware that as a result of an IED attack against HOSET 1, while
mobile from Kirkush to
Baghdad
, Alligator (Oleg Tingayev) was fatally injured. Lanky, also in the
lead vehicle, was injured, but is not considered life threatening.
As a result of the long time taken to notify Alligators Next of Kin I have
had to delay sending out this message. This is a tragic loss.
Alligator was stalwart and professional operator and everybody's friend.
All will have a special memory of Alligator and he will be sorely missed.
I would like to pay tribute to Rich's team for the courageous way they
acted on the ground. I would also like to acknowledge the support
given by the GRD teams, HOSET 2 and many others. The post incident
co-ordination and evacuation was truly an Erinys team effort.
Arrangements are underway for the repatriation to
Moscow
. Igor is in
Russia
assisting with the arrangements and supporting the family. Further details
will follow. Lanky is making a good recovery and is expected to be
released from the CSH in the near future. Please forward this
message throughout your teams and to anybody who has left the company that
you think would like to know.
